The Independent - Julia Stuart
'Pop goes Mozart'

"In a trendy bar in South London golden-skinned lovelies in flip-flops,
and young men in open-necked shirts, are sipping drinks as they wait.
Toni Castells, a one-time classical musician,
is about to perform his debut album under the name of Momo live for the first time.
He approaches the microphone and announces that the album is dedicated to love,
in particular his personal quest to find the true variety.
By the end of the set the wait has been more than worth it.
In fact, I would happily wait several hours to see it all over again.

"The Publicity Machine says:
"Once in a generation an artist stands out so clearly as a star of the future,
and Toni Castells is that artist.
With his individual production, lyrical vocals and sonic vision,
Toni provides his audience with a unique and stunning musical experience."

Classic FM - Janina Nicoll

"Janina Nicoll discusses if classical music has a place in the hands of 21st century composers.
The article features Alex James from Britpop band Blur,
Gabriel Prokofiev, great grandson of the great Sergei Prokofiev,
and Toni Castells, brainchild of London-based collective Momo."

London Tour Dates Magazine - Ben Roberts

"Momo takes the best of 90s triphop and teaches it a classical lesson over seven pieces of music.
Amid thumping backing tracks of heartbeats and a slideshow of urban images on a big screen,
one singer has the duty of singing the plaintive verses overlayed by the high operatic notes of her partner.
The Sacconi String Quartet and conductor further heighten the haunting combination.

For those who don't mind high self-regard, a night combining Massive Attack and Mendelssohn remains interesting."

UK Music Search - Mike Bond

"Unharmed is a record that plays
like a chilled out work of wonderment,
and one that marks Momo out as masters of subdued majesty."

Toxic Pete

"Unharmed is simply breathtaking, it just takes the listener off to better,
warmer places - places where everythin's just so perfect and dreamlike.
Wonderful pictures and landscapes are brought to mind
as 'Unharmed' and Momo take you deeper in and make you feel relaxed and totally safe.
'Unharmed' is an album that needs to be experienced.
You just cannot get the whole picture unless you let 'Unharmed' carry you there.
I said 'breathtaking' earlier and it really is something that has a very specific effect on your mind and body.
'Unharmed' is a magnificent piece of modern, innovative music.
Stunningly put together and elegantly and precisely recorded,
it is awesome - just awesome!!

Whisperin And Hollerin - Kelly Difford

Toni Castells delivered his album using a strong quartet and the four singers that feature on the album.
These were aided by serene images shown on a large screen,
and various bits of being poetry being read out between songs.
Each song was delivered beautifully, completely hypnotising me and the rest of the audience.
Haunting vocals and stunning melodies literally made the performances fly by.
Each song more distinguishable than they come across on the album,
and far more captivating.

Impossible to get out of your head *****

"Wonderfully evocative music
and a haunting sound world
the individual songs are scrupulously well-composed
giving each number a shape
and distinguishing it from many similar albums
where the music often tends to wander.
Each number lingers long after being played,
while repeated playing reveals details previously missed.
Texts remain simple yet poignant and touchingly delivered.
It is one of the best fusions of classical singers
and acoustic instruments I've heard.
This is a very high-class ambient CD
and indeed, takes the genre well beyond Moby."

by Michael Haas, Grammy Award Winning Producer

Larger than life *****

"Finally an album which takes chillout electronica to the next level.
From dramatic filmic openings, layers of music
built with opera vocals, pop tunes and poetry.
This album could have made a grand Baz Luhrmann soundtrack."

by Chinchilla (iTunes Customer)

Spectacular *****

A must have for reflective moments, in need of inspiration,
impressing friends by your new find
and chilling after a big night out. Buy now!"

Sheer Joy... *****

"From melodic lows to operatic highs,
this album floats through your head leaving a trail of blissfulness,
uplifting yet sobering, but bursting with the enviable talent that is momo.
The coolest beats delicately crafted with exquisite voices
to produce a sound that is quite simply, stunning."

by Angel of the North (iTunes Customer)

Awesome *****

"Never write reviews, only if they are rubbish or extremely good.
This album is not only extremely good and awesome,
but beautiful, rare, groovy and just makes you want to dream all day long.
I wish there was more stuff like this out there."
